Terms and refund policy

Who you're dealing with

My Host Partner is run by Mike Davis, a sole trader. You can reach me through the contact form.

What the session is

Your passwords and your computer

You log in to every service yourself. If you choose to give me remote control of your screen during the call, you can take it back at any moment. I won't ask for your passwords and I won't keep any of your data after the session, except as set out in the privacy notice.

The guarantee

If your return isn't ready to submit by the end of the session, you choose: a free follow-up session, or a full refund. To claim, get in touch within 7 days of the session.

The guarantee doesn't apply if the session couldn't go ahead because the prep checklist wasn't done (for example, no access to your booking accounts or the portal). In that case, I'll offer a free rebooked session instead.

Changing or cancelling

Your legal right to cancel

If you're booking as a consumer, you have 14 days from booking to cancel and get a full refund. When you book a session that takes place within those 14 days, you're asking me to provide it early. If you cancel after the session has taken place, the service is complete and that right ends. These terms don't affect your statutory rights.

Liability

I'll use reasonable care and skill. Because you stay responsible for your return, my total liability to you for a session is limited to the fee you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

The free guide

The guide and the prompt are general help, provided as they are, free of charge. Check your figures before you submit. The council's rules can change; each guide shows the date it was last checked.

Not affiliated

My Host Partner isn't affiliated with or endorsed by the City of Edinburgh Council, visitorlevy.scot, Airbnb, Booking.com, Anthropic or OpenAI. Claude is a trademark of Anthropic. ChatGPT is a trademark of OpenAI.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and the Scottish courts deal with any dispute. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
